Training 2021

Our team had fun last week training for the upcoming winter season.

Training consisted of an indoor classroom session and outdoor hands-on training sessions. The indoor portion focused on discussing winter weather safety, an overview of winter operations, and a refresher on DOT logbook practices. We also hosted a CAT representative at the indoor session who gave a thorough rundown of the CAT 908m Wheel Loader.

For the outdoor session, we had a 7-station rotation for the following pieces of equipment/topics: salt trucks, skid loaders, plow trucks, wheel loaders, snow rators, liquid/salt trucks, and load securement. The staff was broken up into smaller groups so that everyone would have hands-on training with each type of equipment. At each station our crews received information on how to properly use the equipment, the do’s and don’ts of the equipment, as well as how to troubleshoot issues.

Everyone was provided with an opportunity to learn more about the various types of equipment we operate and had a helpful refresher and reminder of winter operations and equipment for this upcoming winter season.
